The first Marine V150 upgraded through the Light Armor System Upgrade program rolled out yesterday from the Cummins Philippines facilities in Laguna.  Three more are scheduled to be finished by the year's end.

Upgrades include a new engine similar to the one used in the LAV-300.  The old engines will be used in reviving the old Chaimites.

Nice.  Congrats to CSSB.

Looks like we weren't very far off from what it would look like.  The extension is on the rear almost the same as the PA's V-150S models.  Unlike the Army's S models though, the regular side doors were retained.  Nice.

Maybe they better tie a rope on the end of those windows so they can pull it shut from the inside.

They're doing 20 of these, right?

 Bravo

Can't wait to see the Chaimites -- in both combat ambulance and mortar platform config.

is the chaimites the same weight with the V-150? if it ligther then it is good, but what if it's heavier?

what kind of steel are they using? (low carbon or high carbon)

from what i've seen it looks like it is thin skinned.

It's Cadloy ballistic steel plate, tougher than it looks, and the thickness is typical for wheeled armored vehicles.

References list the Chaimite as lighter by about 2.5 tons.

thanks, so that means that the chaimite would have much power, defending on the transmision used.

it is possible to make it double haulled body? if for example they were using 1/2" thick steel how about two pieces of steel plate 1/4" on the outer skin and 1/8" on the inner skin or vice versa.

Very nice...

Did they need new transmissions for these as well?

Ilang HP ba ang dinagdag ng bagong engine?

Jep, I guess you're going to have to build new models. Wink

Well, the Simbas are relatively new, maybe they could upgrade the older PA V150s (do they still have some petrol-engined ones?)

For the Simba, maybe a better turret would help, and roof hatches?

This arrangement looks a bit vulnerable:
