This is the beggining of the 8th aircraft I have started in my whole modelling life. Only one was ever finished. A T6 texan. The way that this kit is going, it's going to be the second one I will actually complete.

I don't think there's any doubt of what I will depict this as.

I actually have Italeri's C130H in 1/48 scale. Imagine that. I'm just actually practicing on this 1/72 C-47.

I have the 1/72 Esci C-47 and AC-47 - different mold from the Italeri brand -  and I do have the same concern as "wingnut":

There seems to be no existing image of the AC-47s of the PAF.  If I remember correctly, it was armed with M2 .50 cal. HMG and not the usual 7.62mm miniguns.

Just finished assembly. Now for the painting part.

I never knew that the PAF had AC-47's (Spooky).

Can anyone here verify that?

For the record, the PAF had modified C47s that were armed with M2 .50 HMG but were firing from the fuselage floors and at the port windows;  from what i was told, these a/c were notoriously unreliable but brought effective shock effect by having about 10 MGs firing sumultaneously.  Some even had Cafe Puro mortar bombs that were manually dropped to increase the impact.

Now, i have not seen a camouflaged A/C47 but saw pics of the standard ( white over silver) schemes;  numbers, etc, i still have to recheck my resources.

To digress, I know about the Ac-47s, my dad used to fly one and I've even gotten a ride in one a ways back..

There was an AC-47 in camo scheme at Villamor air base in the 1970s.

Remember, that we also got 4 C-47 from the SVNAF[South Vietnam] when they were used in fleeing the collapse of their country from the NVA.  There is at least one AC-47 from among the four.

Mondo, just in case you decide to do an AC-47.

Yours truly being told to tie my shoe lace.

As explained by the owner, the third mg is right next to the exit door.  Just got lucky, this AC-47 was on the air show today featuring the civilian counterparts of the Navy's Blue Angels, the US Air Force "Thunderbirds". An in-service joke. Very Happy
