Continuing this thread, while I still can make some stuff:

http://timawa.net/forum/index.php?topic=6677.0

here is one of the tanks:

M4A3 Sherman, minimal weathering, as seen in the picture in the background in a parade sometime in the 1950s...

a little angle...

out in the open...

The first finished kit  ( sort of, until I totally weather the tracks and make minor details) with accurate markings, AFAIK of a Philippine Army tank from the 1950s to be seen on the web.. 1/72 scale, Trumpeter kit with lotsa modifications...

More 50s PA armor to come...if i still have time to gradually finish my projects... Shocked

based on the picture i have seen, there is  add on armor- which if you compare to standard M4A3 Shermans, iba ang itsura at size; also look cloer at this build- you will see some difference from the standard M4A3 or its variants.  Which makes this particular build doubly significant from a usual build of AFP armor that  i do... What's with the white triangel? Was that the roundel then?

I saw an old B&W pic of an M41 with a similar triangle or maybe it was just the photo, because AFAIK the triangle for the M41 is the tri-color, right?

the white triangle was the standard marking nun.  the tri color of armor was used in the M41s in a short period... Shocked

Sir, what year was the last known unit operational? I remember seeing a tank in plain light green color doing some manuevers somewhere in Ft. Bonifacio (PALAR?) when we were conducting FTX in the summer of '82. It was far and we were on the move.

prior to PALAR, the ACT was operational in the late 60s; PALAR didnt have Shermans any more, but FV101s as early as 1976... Shocked

Humm... kaya pala they are reviving 1ACT as a unit of LAD (LABde)... Totally, historically significant!  Kudos on the Shermans, Sir Jepz!
