When I was reading the list of PAF I posted on the other section, I came accross the Boeing P12E. Then I remembered that there was 1 peice in our hobby shop here.

So I went down and bought it. Turns out to be the last peice.

It's a 1/32 scale kit. Pretty big.

I wonder if anyone has reference pics for this aircraft?

I believe Manokski mentioned  this aircraft before. The last one used to be at PAF Museum but it was pulled out and rebuilt. It made a grand pass at one PAF Anniversary day in the 1980's as the emcee was recalling the colorful history of PAF followed by closely by a F-8H. What a sight to behold. The old biplane Boeing (which I mistook for a Jenny) lumbering, overtaken and left behind by the sleek F-8H.

Manokski should be able to provide information on the aircraft. I should think it seats somewhere at VAB.

Thanks for the link. But I was thinking more in the lines of Phil. Air Corps pics of the P12 to copy for this kit.

Cheif,

What kit did you use? Hasegawa too?

Should the emblem be that big?

sure about the paac p-12? i know the americans had spads, f5 (no, the paf f-5s are not that old, talking about a boeing biplane), jennys, p-12s, p-26s, p-35s along with some bolos. possible that the us had some filipinos train on them but i dont think there were official filipino pursuit planes until the p-26.

Thinking about it, yeah you're right. Manokski mentioned it was a Stearman P-17, not a P-12.

Wish PAF Unixgeek can give us a walkaround of that Boeing P-17 if it has not been sold yet.

The PAF did rebuild a Stearman not a P-12 and flew it as part of one of the anniversary celebrations.

I believe I never saw one at VAB (not even at the museum).  There is a Stearman on static display at FAB, Lipa though.  I believe it is near the AETC area.

There used to be one in VAB in the old museum area before they moved it and restored it.

I have a picture of the Stearman before it was restored. I will post it as soon as I find where my wife kept (threw) it.  Razz
