Finally, the reinforcements have arrived! (JKrn)
Big thanks to Sir JEPOT for the inspiration and guidance.

A couple of M113s from LABde.  Took me sometime to finish these.  Frankly, these are still my 3rd and 4th AFV kits that I have completed, so quality is not top notch.

Although not by much, I did a little weathering, especially on the ACAV version.  References for these M113s were not readily available, so imagination took care for most of it.  Guide were pixs from homeboy (homer r.) and getty images.  Sir Jepot gave me the 4-color tone for the camo.

M113 A1 ACAV with .50-cal turret from 5LAB (deployed in Lanao around 2003) Very Happy
M113 A1 FSV (Scorpion 76mm turret) from 1LAB (deployed in Basilan) Very Happy

with a LAV-25

NOT BAD! Not bad at all!!

Again another AFP oriented scale model topic...

Just a little word on my particular interest in AFP topics:

Time was when i along with homeboy were kids and we got hooked on the hobby around 6th grade;  but then all the kits had foreign decals, so you can imagine how frustrating it was for both of us not to see kits in AFP markings per se;  in a hobby show showcasing the late Alfie Anidos' collection sometime in the 80's, we saw PAF a/c so wow! Pwede pala yun!  so sabi namin time will come we will see kits in AFP markings.  And we got to join a hobby club and eventually met some people, most notably the late great BERT ANIDO whose passion was PAF aircraft.  There were other people who were genuinely interested in PAF or any AFP related kit but many were just into lip service to glorify themselves or just to join the bandwagon so to speak.  Until the kits that the AFP used became a reality ( thanks a lot to AFV club with its seminal FV101 in 1/35th scale), and homeboy found out the technology to make AFP decals; and my joining the service made me see up close and personal the stuff we used.  And finally Timawa came and a venue for folks with a common interest found ground.  And now these works of jkrn, 40 niner, tikboy to name a few to showcase our military in scale.  Indeed, thanks to timawa the interest to churn out scale models with the AFP topics as a theme has finally become reality....finally after 30 years or so of waiting!  And the nice part is it is no longer limited to aircraft but now more to armor...i hope i see more PN ships in kit form ( my 501 is what i have so far seen...any more projects out there?)...

again for us all here who enjoy builing AFp oriented topics in scale, lets continue and make more projects for all of us to admire!

mabuhay tayong lahat! Shocked

http://www.geocities.com/afponlinemuseum/CSV.html

step by step on ow to make the FSV; this was a project homeboy did a long time ago- we have since found what the mistake was; the paint scheme is based ona picture when the FSV first came out; the paint scheme of 40-niner is of a more recent date.

I have a CSV project long overdue for painting in an early PSG scheme but then again... so buzy at work..

keep the reinforcements going folks! Shocked

ACAV : The gunshield was modified.  I believe it is a LABde modification after the 2000 War in Mindanao.  They added a slant shield above the existing one to increase protection from coconut tree-based snipers.  This kit was actually bashed from an Academy M113 FISTV.

FSV : The kit was "heavily" modified from an AFV Club M113 A1 Fire Support.  The kit was an Australian version using the Scorpion 76mm turret mounted directly into an M113 using a turret transverse 'riser'.  The Philippine Army's modification is different.  It uses a structure riser, while the transverse mechanism still has the normal height.  I copied the form of the riser from a Sir Jepot's pic.  Thus -- I actually bashed two M113 tops, though both came with the kit.  From Homeboy's page, I saw the photo's still having the 'ammo box' at the rear of the turret -- so I retained this on the kit.

Sir Jep I hope u can ask the executives of Trumpeter through your President at Bert Anido Chapter to consider making that elusive V150

AFAIK, Trump was considering making a V100; a manual of the Chaimite I had in my posessesion was actually borrowed as reference through a member of the IPMS BA.

And I cannot ask the President of IPMS BA, Mr Frank CHing to advise Trump to make a V150/100 or Chaimite for that matter. I am no longer connected with any hobby club.
