Laughing I would like to congratulate the marines for innovation.
They manages to work together and improved their tactical edge, even though they have a limited budget.
MSSR rifle program is one of the best practical innovation
that they undertaken.
M35 guntrucks hardening program but i suggest that they can do more.
Regarding their design maybe they could try to used the design features of the Jordanian M35 gun truck which is based on the Casspir MK3 design.
It could protect them more against mines, against rifle grenades,M79 rounds that could hit the open top rear cargo area.
And to improved their lethality it's time for the Marines to replace their M-16A1.
The M-16A2/A3 is the best replacement using the SS109 round and this good have a common weapon and ammunition
with your allies.
The South Korean K2 rifle and the Belgian FNC rifle could also be considered because they utilized the M-16 standard magazine.
I suggest that the Marines should have M113 ZIPPO flamethrower.
This is a potent weapon against MG nest, bunkers and to break up a massive column of enemy attacks.
I also suggest a dozen of M113A3 120mm mortar carrier or M998 Humvee 120mm rapid fire ST kinetics mortar of Singapore.
Mobility of support weapons like mortars to support ongoing operation is very crucial.
Reason 1.  If you attack a dug in enemy you need a combined forces.
Arty and mortars to bombard enemy position, combined armor and infantry assault.
       MD-520 and OV-10 for CAS.
Fire support and recon vehicles how about if we can augment our V-300FSV-90 with something like a SABRE recon/fire support armed with either a 30mm RARDEN or 30mm Bushmaster Chain gun or the French VBL scout car armed with M2HB,MK19 AGL  and can be armed with MILAN 3 ATGW.
By the way the British used the MILAN succesfully during the FALKLANDS WAR to destroy bunkers and mortar/artillery position.
BEST WISHES TO THE PMC! Very Happy

:lol:ADROTH thanks buddy! The LVTP5 sounds good, but the paint scheme looks like it provides a big target for RPG's.
This type of paint scheme coud be use only in urban warfare, or during amphibious landing.
I suggest if their planning to use it actively again maybe they can add a pindle mount for M240 or M60 MG each side.
This could provide protection against enemy infantry lurking with RPG's. And  a
smoke grenade launcher to provide smoke protection during assault or in case their is an ambush.
And a CIS-40AGL pindle mount with shield on top of the turret.
I doubt the marines will use this farther inland. This vehicle could only provide artillery fire support during the landing.
This could be use as a command post vehicle or a mobile artillery observation vehicle.

Have faith in the people you praised when you started this thread.  Cool

This particular LVTP was meant for use in urban settings only; to provide fire support. Hence the Berlin Brigade-style camo. Visit this site for the history of this paint scheme:

http://www.emlra.org/articles/berlin_brigade.htm

It was not meant to go back to the bush. As per MBLT's explanation, this example doesn't even have amphib capability anymore.

rolleyes  IF their is no amphibious capability it is not an LVT anymore. So it's for parade purposes only is that what you mean.
I started the thread about the MARINE accomplishment MSSR
 and the guntrucks.

In case you havent noticed, the LVT, amphibious or not, still packs a 105mm gun which could either be used as either mobile artillery or as direct fire support vehicle like the V300.  It has a more powerful gun than the V-300 or anything else in the AFP for that matter.  It's also not as vulnerable to RPGs as you might think.  If it were, we would have certainly lost all our armored vehicles by now.

It's called making do and if you do not appreciate it, certainly other people do.

Nope. Read my post, I said its for fire support. Remember what happened in '89?

Care to tie this in with the discussion?

Yup, its not modernization. This is "keeping one's head above water".

Again, have faith in the Marines that you praised. The person behind the revival of this LVTP is the same person behind the gun trucks and the MSSR.

I stand to be corrected guys, you guys are right that it could provide an effective fire support for our marines. But the urban comouflage scheme that is applied could raise suspicion.
Is this part of the STRATEGIC WEAPON STOCKPILE just in case their is a mutiny.
I just realized that the biggest threat for the Philippine NATIONAL SECURITY is the Filipino people. Our politicians, the CCP-NPA, MILF,ASG, or the ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES itself.
We are a country that is divided CULTURALLY example The feud  BY PRIDE        between ILOCANOS and BISAYA, DIVIDED BY RELIGIONS, and political beliefs.
I dont know if you guys will agree with my views? And the other thing that I would like to ask to the CCP-NPA,NDF, GABRIELA and others.
Why are still using the hammer and sickle and the red star. When the world already knows how this type of government works.
From the former USSR states, NORTH KOREA, CUBA and CHINA.
With the various crimes against their own people like POL POT, CASTRO, STALIN and many others + they already lost the COLD WAR.
Sometimes i think what is going on in our country, I read about our history and i always notice treachery by the filipino people.
From the assasination of ANDRES BONIFACIO, MARCELO del PILAR, to the TIRAD PASS.
AND I ALSO NOTICE THAT ALL THE COUNTRY THAT CAME UNDER SPANISH RULE had the same corrupt society.

Tch. Blame the whole Filipino society itself as your aforementioned threats are a direct manifestation of a disfunctional society.

The camo pattern is based on the one developed by the Berlin Brigade during the cold war. Here is the history of this scheme

This thread is starting to get off track.

The needs and interests of the Filipino is primary while that of foreigners is secondary.
However, some Filipinos are still uneasy about this and would rather be the apologists or defenders of foreign interests.
