Sa pagkakaalam ko yung project Santa Barbara ay missile project ni Marcos way back 197os di ba nag parade pa ng Bong Bong missile noon kaso wala na nga balita doon at nag test fire pa and I think yung fuel ay nasa Fort San felipe in Cavite , yun naman na Polaris ay isang Submarine ng US navy na balak natin bilhin during Marcos time ...  hindi rin yata nag materialize.  sino pa ba pwede magdagdag .... TY.

Yun submarine project siguro kung natuloy top secret info pa rin.  But got from a very reliable source that Marcos uses a submarine to get to his secret hideout of gold.  Very little info yun naibigay ng dating close sa Marcos but it was a big vault na top to bottom puno ng gold bars.  No idea siya sa location and kung Yamashita gold yun if you're going to ask (kasi unahan ko na kayo if I know  Very Happy ).  Missile project, hirap kasi to keep in storage fuel nun more so maintaining the missiles.  Very corrosive kasi ang fuel nyan.  At least may tech na pala tayo to make these.  Pa post naman ng pix for us to see.

Governor Singson has his own submarine.

I believe the Santa Barbarra Project was completed. I actually watch every time they are test firing the missile. Accuracy to the target was quite good.

What's the purpose of the missile, is it a SAM, a SSM, anti-ship missile or an air to surface missile? From what I know, it has a range comaparable to AIM-9 Sidewinder though the missile itself is slighlty longer.

Governor Singson has his own submarine.

It's not a submarine in military sense. From what I know it was bought for underwater surveying and observation. It carries a crew of two or three and is mainly built on fiber-glass. The term Submersible   Water Craft might be much appropriate. I wonder if it could carry a torpedoe?

A quote from MBLT that got buried in http://timawa.net/forum/index.php?topic=3100.0

Actually the SANBA Rockets developed by the Philippine Navy at the Santa Barbara Complex in Sangley.  Prototypes used the rocket propellant of the 7.2 inch hedgehogs forward throwing anti- submarine depth charges then installed aboard PCEs, DEs and MSFs.  Long discussion on this topic a few years back in this forum including photos. Head of the project was Commodore Protacio a scientist in his own right.

Notice the last two M35s? They look like mobile tracking mods if the roof thingie were antennas. When and how did the Philippines fell off the saddle when it comes to development and staying competetive? jeez Sad Sad

Nice find sir Adroth,  thumbs up
Those pics does'nt look like newpaper clippings. Got anymore photos or article regarding the project?

I wonder if all of those involve in this project is still around? (I mean those that did the R & D)...Part of the AFP modernizations plan is to acquire missiles, instead of doing that, why not just revive the shelved project and maybe ask the Israelis to help us?

Nice pictures..I hope somebody in the AFP,SRDP and in the administration revive the special project. Now can we have a more deeper perspective and conclusions why this projects bogged down... Is there any foreign pressures that is involved why it did not materialized, because that time we have a willed president who has a vision for our AFP. Maybe for now if his projects continues we are now a nuclear capable nation,(for the projected  BNPP project1 and we will hve at least 3-4 Nuclear plants completed by the end of 1990s, for civilian and military purposes) much ahead than Nokor and Iran.
